I decided to post a video because they are fun lol! Just kidding it's quicker and more personal BUT it won't load (insert angry face) lol!
So Submission - I like to look at it as submission being an attitude not being put down beneath another. The same way you place your children and job as a priority you can do the same with a spouse. It's important not to look at marriage as restrictive but enhancing. Everything you have done as a single woman you can do as a married woman.
The main thing is that you serve your spouse with a right heart. It's about the attitude you take toward serving them. If you anticipate a problem, there will be a problem, but if you anticipate a partnership - you will have that!
I have been happily married for 16 years this July and I'm really blessed to say that word does not scare me! That word enhances me! As I submit to God - it makes it easy to submit to my spouse...especially when he's an example of Christ!
Stay encouraged!
~Love ya~
Oh - and the benefits Tedra, thank you for asking.
ReplyDelete*Happy Husband, happy family, priority in my household, husband who adores me, great father and partner in life because we are working together to enhance one another. We challenge each other to see if we can out serve one another - I'm pleasing God!!! And by pleasing God - I have a right to ask for an amazing relationship...in all areas (you can read between the lines)!
Hope this encourages you - I'm sure I can think of more but I've got to get ready for Girls Night Out! lol - See ya tonight!
Thank you everyone who has responded or talked to me about submission. It was so great to be able to hear from both married women with marriages that I look up to and want to have a marriage like one day and also from other single women who don't let their past relationships get in the way of their faith in God and what he has in store for us as wives. I was holding back from signing this resolution because I was afraid of what it meant. I now have a new understanding of what it means to be submissive and I can say it and think about it without having ill feelings about it. Thank you for helping me grow as a woman in Christ!
